Robert “Bobby D” Evans Davis, age 72, of 203 North 18th Street, Escanaba passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers following a brief illness.
Bob was born December 20, 1944 in Escanaba, the son of William and Margaret (Corbett) Davis. Bob graduated from the Escanaba Senior High School in 1962. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 until he was honorably discharged in 1968. Bob was a Vietnam War Veteran and earned the Medal of Galantry and the Purple Heart. Bob was the proud owner of the Emporium at 1215 Ludington Street, also known as Bob’s Good Time. If you were a teenager in 1979-1983 you may remember this teenage hang-out hot spot..

Known by his friends as “Bobby D”, he was well known for his charismatic and friendly nature. His hobbies included playing pool, golfing on Fridays with his close friends and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.

Bob was very proud of his Irish ancestry and married the love of his life, Cindy Perryman, on St. Patrick’s Day in 2016. Bob and Cindy made it a custom for several years to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Las Vegas.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cindy; son, Michael Davis and Justin Caswell, whom Bob considered a son; daughters, Marla (Wayne) Stenberg and Jessica (Craig) Davis; step- children, Billy Abbott, Donald Deschaine and Harley Finnerty; grandchildren, Tanisha Davis, Noah Danforth, Savanna and Broc Stenberg and Landon Peterson; his brother, Thomas Davis and many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Douglas Eden, brother, William “Baron” Davis, nephew, Donald Eden and his fiance’ Janice Caswell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27 from 3:00 PM to 4:45 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Military Honors will be presented at 4:45 PM by the Delta County Veterans Council. Funeral services, officiated by Fr. Fran DeGroot, will be at 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
