Richard A. “Cook” Derouin, age 67, of Cornell, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 23, 2019, at U.P. Health System in Marquette, due to complications of a heart attack. Cook’s wife Karen is listed among the surviving family.

Cook’s family will receive friends on Friday February 1, 2019, from 2:00PM to 6:00PM, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow visiting hours, at 6:00PM on Friday, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Escanaba, with Rev. Duane Wils officiating. Luncheon will follow funeral services in the church hall. Casual clothing is requested, please come as you are. To honor the privacy of the Derouin family on this very difficult day, Derouin’s Auto Body and Collision will be closed Friday February 1, 2019 and will resume normal business hours on Monday February 4, 2019. Cook’s full obituary and photo will be forthcoming. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.

    Richard (Cook) Derouin gave so much to the community and his passion the whitetail deer. Cornell will never be the same. The Plourde family will miss you.

    I’m so deeply sorry for your loss… Cook was one of my dads good friends and always so helpful and geniuine .. many thoughts and prayers through this difficult time… It meant so much to me and my family that Cook took time from his schedule to touch my dads car up for his funeral.. I know how hard it is to lose such great person so quickly…
