Peggy Elizabeth Berglund, age 77, of Rapid River passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba.
Peggy was born September 16, 1939 in Escanaba, the daughter of Norrie and Linnea (Johnson) Holmlund. She was raised in Rapid River and graduated from the Rapid River High School in 1957. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, the Rapid River American Legion Auxiliary Unit 301 and drove bus for the Rapid River Public Schools for many years.
Peggy is survived by her son Brent (Amy) Berglund of Rapid River; her daughter Brenda (Douglas) Wicke of Rapid River; three grandchildren, Derek, Jacob and Mason Berglund; her sisters, Joan Richer of Gladstone, Mary Ann LaVigne of Rapid River, Betty (Harvey) Setter of Gladstone, Carol (Dennis) Sabo of Gladstone and Pam Smeester of Rapid River and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Berglund, her parents and her sister, Vera Vietzke.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 2 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM with Rev. Stephen Gauger officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River. Peggy will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery.
