Neva Elizabeth Ganzel, age 73, of Gladstone, MI, formerly of Delton, MI, passed away early Thursday morning, December 29, 2016, at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba, MI.
Neva was born August 6, 1943, in Plainwell, MI, the daughter of Dale and Thelma (Storms) Boulter. She was raised in the area before moving around during her husband’s military service and career; and also resided in Memphis, TN and Hollywood, FL prior to spending her final years in Gladstone, MI to be close to her family. In spite of years of health challenges, Neva had a smile for everyone who crossed her path, a mischievous sense of humor and was loved by all. She was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and was dedicated to watching their games.

Neva is survived by three sons, James (Dawn) Ganzel and Charles Ganzel of Gladstone, MI, Joe (Teresa) Ganzel of Menlo, WA and one daughter, Christine (Edgar) Tyson, also of Gladstone; two brothers: James (Dora) Boulter and Dale (Marylin) Boulter of Delton, MI; ten grandchildren: Sabrina, Daniel, Kayla, Jaime, Robert, Charlie, Jack and Kaitlyn Ganzel, Samantha and Isaac Tyson; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Neva was preceded in death by former husband, Robert Ganzel.

Neva’s family will receive friends and share memories on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the USW Local 2-21 Union Hall, 1201 Sheridan Road in Escanaba, MI.

Friends and family are invited to join in remembering Neva at an 11 a.m. service with lunch to follow on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Orangeville Town Hall, 7350 Lindsey Road, Plainwell, MI. Burial will be prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Ganzel family.
