Mary J. Kidd, age 93, passed away Thursday morning, April 20, 2017, at her home in Escanaba.

 

Mary was born April 8, 1924, in Escanaba, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Karbon) Kutches.  She was raised in Escanaba and attend the St. Joseph Catholic School.  On September 28, 1967, Mary was united in marriage to Allen Kidd and together the couple made their home in Escanaba.  Mary was employed for the Harnischfeger Corporation until her retirement.  She enjoyed planting flowers, tending her garden, feeding and watching birds and in her younger years, going to ceramics.  Mary had a tender and caring heart.  She was dedicated to her entire family and enjoyed celebrating family events.  She will be sadly missed.

 

Survivors include:

Brother:  Peter (Barbara) Kutches

Sisters:  Judde (Matt) Snyder and Ruby Carroll Step Daughters:  Sherry (Bob) Potvin and Jalene (Tom) Polkey Also, listed among the surviving family are Mary’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Mary’s parents, John and Dorothy, husband, Allen and her brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

 

 

 

Visitation for Mary will be held privately at the convenience of her family.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, at 11:00AM, at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba, with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating.  Mary will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Escanaba.  The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements

    I appreciated the kindness Cousin “Butsie” and Allen extended to my mother and for the cards and prayers she sent when I was going through a difficult time. It was always great to visit with her and Mel .She’s with our large extended family now and they are having a great reunion!
