Luella T. Sharkey

Luella T. Sharkey, age 92, of Milwaukee and formerly of Perkins, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 8, 2018, at the Clifden Court Assisted Living Facility in Greendale, WI.

Luella was born October 30, 1925, in Perkins, the daughter of Napolean and Delia (Beauchamp) Sharkey. She was raised in Perkins and was a graduate of Perkins High School.

Following high school, Luella relocated to Milwaukee, WI where she has remained her entire life. Luella was employed at Boeing Company working in traffic control. She later went to work for Allen Bradley as an administrative supervisor. Although Luella lived in Milwaukee, she would always try to make it home for the holidays to spend with her brother “Nap”.

Luella was a wonderful, independent lady. She had a witty sense of humor and was known for her quips and “one liners”. She volunteered for the Franciscan Sisters in Milwaukee and would often chauffer the sick for medical visits to the doctor. She was proud to play in her recorder group at nursing homes and church functions. Luella also enjoyed hiking, reading, playing cards and art.

Cousins: Gerald (Mary) Beauchamp, Roger (Pat) Beauchamp,
Norman (Joyce) Beauchamp, Wendell (Wilma) Beauchamp,
and Arlene Dorn
Luella was especially close to her cousins Jacqueline (Peter Kolbeck) Tsolak and Caroline Knowles who also survive.

Luella was preceded in death by her parents, Napolean and Delia, sister, Gloria Sharkey and brother, Napolean Sharkey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday at 11:00AM, at St. Joseph Church in Perkins, with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Luella will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery following Mass. Contributions in Luella’s name may be directed to School Sisters of St. Francis, 1501 South Layton Blvd. Milwaukee, WI 53215. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.

    I worked with Lu at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee. She was a fine woman always very helpful and interested in my family. May she rest in peace.

    I worked with Luella at Allen Bradley for a number of years. She was a wonderful person to work with. I think of her often.
