Louis J. “Louie” Williams, 69, of Gladstone, was a much loved husband, father, papa, son, brother uncle, and friend to many, Louie passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, with his family by his side after a very recent diagnosis of metastasized cancer.
Louie was known for his integrity and desire to always put others and their needs before his own. He was a caring and patient man who had a big heart and undying love for his family. He appreciated the little things in life, such as spending time with his family and friends, good music, cold beers, dancing, morning coffee, and the daily phone calls to his children. Louie understood that life was a brief gift from God, and that each moment should be enjoyed to its fullest for what it’s worth. He was his happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren who loved and adored him. Even as some grew into adult grandchildren, they still referred to him by the enduring term of “my papa.”
Louie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his son, Kevin; his parents, two brothers, and a sister.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, siblings, and loving partner of 10 years, along with many other family members and friends who love and miss him greatly.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba with a Closing Prayer at 5 p.m.
In addition, a celebration of Louie’s life will be held at the White Birch on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 6 p.m.
