Lawrence “Larry” Boden, age 63, of Rapid River passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Larry was born on February 10, 1955 in Escanaba, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy (Beauchamp) Boden. He graduated from the Gladstone High School in 1973. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Deneau on December 1, 1973 at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. Larry worked for the Soo Line and EL&S Railroads for 28 years, the Island Resort and Casino, Hiawatha Chef Supply and Northwest Petroleum, finally retiring in 2008. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed camping, gardening, electronics and his pets.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Christina (Heath) Boden of Escanaba; his son, Adam Boden of Escanaba; grandchildren, Devin, Curtis, Riley, Tristen and Ayden; great grandchildren, Cal and Wyatt; brothers, Richard (Heidi), Francis (Judy), Mike and Steve (Stephanie) all of Sheboygan, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Nault and his parents.

Funeral services for Larry will be on Saturday, January 12 at 4:00 PM at the Congregational Church in Rapid River with a dinner to follow in the church fellowship hall. Pastor Bill Rafuse will officiate.

The Boden family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

    You always knew how to light up a room with just a smile. I love you a lot grandpa and i may be late on writing this but i couldn’t miss you anymore then right now.
