Joyce A. Wolf, age 80, of Bark River, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Monday, February 5, 2018, at Northwoods Place in Escanaba.

Born in Escanaba on December 14, 1937, Joyce was the daughter of Emil and Ann (Karabon) Skradski.

She attended nursing school at age 18 in Rockford, Illinois and eventually graduated from Bay de Noc Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Joyce worked as a Registered Nurse at hospitals and nursing homes for over 40 years. She especially enjoyed volunteering at Perspective Adult Day Care and caring for the elderly.

In addition to nursing, Joyce enjoyed cooking and canning foods from her husband’s garden. She liked historical books and biographies of movie stars from the 40’s and 50’s. Her favorite hobby was reading, collecting and watching the movie “Gone with the Wind” and she loved to study the author and actors involved in that picture.

Joyce was united in marriage to Victor T. Wolf, on September 15, 1956, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Escanaba. The couple resided in Milwaukee, WI and St. Paul, MN before moving to Bark River in 1966 where they made their home and raised their children. Joyce and Victor spent over 60 wonderful years together.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband Victor:
Children: Timothy (Diane) Wolf of Little Elm, TX
Ted Wolf of Iron Mountain, MI
Paul (Tami) Wolf of Bark River, MI
Phillip (Kristi) Wolf of Kinross, MI
Sister: Donna Blair of Alaska
Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Joyce’s parents, six brothers and sisters and her daughter in law, Lori Wolf preceded her in death.

A memorial mass to honor the life of Joyce A. Wolf will be conducted on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 1:00PM, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River, with Rev. Fr. Darryl Pepin officiating. Joyce will be laid to rest in the Rapid River Cemetery following mass. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to Perspective Adult Day Care. Envelopes will be available during mass and at the Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County.

    I echo your sentiments Debbie. We had so much fun at Aunt Joyce’s visiting when we were kids. I can still hear her laugh and see that great twinkle in her eyes! Our visits were too few, but I will miss knowing she is there just the same. Rest in peace Auntie. Thinking of you all Victor and family.

    Vic and Joyce were neighbors in Gladstone when the kids were young. Even when they moved to Bark River they remained close friends with my mom and dad. Many good memories!

    Dear Mom, You will be so very missed. Your compassion and dear prayers for all that ails was helpful in times of need. You took care of those in need where you worked and had a special place in your heart for all of us. May the dear Lord be happy now to have a new angel at his side. Until we meet again, I love YOU!
