Gertrude A. Moran, age 90, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully Friday, September 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Gert was born September 5, 1928, in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Johnson) Hoffman. Gert graduated from Escanaba High School as Salidictorian of her class. On October 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Raymond J. Moran at St. Anne’s Catholic Church.

Gert was full of energy and lived a very full and active life. A homemaker while raising her family, she returned to the workforce in 1976 working for her son at Circle M Country, working until age 89. An avid dog lover, she raised and showed Shelties for many years. She was a weekly visitor to the local nursing homes with her therapy dogs until this year when her health would no longer allow her to do so.

2 Daughters: Debbie (Ken) Jussila of Escanaba, MI
Diane (Kevin) Graham of Escanaba, MI
2 GrandDaughters: Toni (Davin) Berman of Marinette, WI
Tyler (Bob) Dillon of Plainfield, IL
3 Great Grandchildren: Treyson Krebs, Peyton Berman, and Griffin Dillon
Brother-In-Law: Robert Moran
4 Nieces
And her most precious dogs Kalli and Tasha.

In addition to her parents, Gert is preceded in death by:
Husband: Ray on November 18, 1999
Infant Brother

The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Christian Park, Dr. Steve Dosh, OSF Hospice and Gentle Hands for their efforts in keeping mom comfortable and cared for, allowing us to fulfill her desire to be home for her final days

Family will receive friends Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. A memorial service will follow visiting hours at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba at 4:00 PM with Pastor Erik Heskin officiating. Gert will be laid to rest in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells, MI. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Moran family.

    We are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. If we would have known sooner we would have given hugs and condolences at the show this weekend.     Dear Dave and sisters & family………..we are so so very sorry to hear of Gert’s passing and know what a void you are all feeling in your lives right now!! We wish we could be there for her visitation and funeral home service but please know you are all in our thoughts/prayers at this most difficult time! Keep her memories close in your hearts and she will be with you till we all meet again in paradise!!

    So sorry to hear about your mom, she was a special lady and will be missed by many. I always enjoyed her conversations when at the local fair for so many years. May the good Lord embrace her and keep her through all eternity. My thoughts and prayers are with the family!

    To my dear friends Dave & Diane….I am so very sorry to hear about your precious mom. I loved stopping in at the Circle M to see her, she was so sweet and a real delight to talk with. She helped me not only with purchasing my Shelties but she was a wealth of information on raising them. She gave me so many beautiful memories and i will cherish them forever.
    Rest in peace my sweet friend…….You will be missed.
