Fred R. Tryan, age 90, of Rapid River passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba.
Fred was born August 10, 1927 in Escanaba, the son of Fred and Clara (St. Antone) Tryan. He was united in marriage to Marcella Weissert on October 29, 1949. He worked in maintenance at St. Francis Hospital for many years.
Fred is survived by his wife; three sons, Fred (Brenda) Tryan of Winona, MN, Dennis (Karen) Tryan of Escanaba and John (Tracy) Tryan of Escanaba; eight grandchildren, Sondra (Brian) Bayley, Monica Tryan, Adrienne (Adam) Tryan, Kyle (Jennifer) Tryan, Jake Tryan, Jesse McMillan, Chelsea Zettler and Nicole Zettler; five great grandchildren, Scarlett, Marlo, Julia, Fletcher and Grant; his brother, Jim (Bonnie) Tryan of Ford River; his sisters, Eileen Burkland of Ford River, Betty Williams of Ford River, Clara (Jim) Johnson of Rockford, IL and Gladys Thruman of Rockford, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Robert, Earl, Kenneth and Louis Tryan and his sister Margaret King.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 22 from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Military Honors will be presented at 11:15 AM by the Delta County Veterans Council and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish in Escanaba. Fred will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
