Eileen “Dorothy” Brown, age 90, of Escanaba, passed away December 23, 2017 at the Christian Park Healthcare Center where she resided for the past nine years due to Alzheimer’s/Dementia.

Dorothy was born to Margaret (Derusha) and Lambert Allard on September 22, 1927 in Escanaba. She married Lloyd J. Brown on June 21, 1946 in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2006.

Dorothy and her husband Lloyd owned and operated Browns’ Tropiquarium out of their basement for over thirty years. She loved when the children from Webster School would walk over for field trips to see all the tropical fish.

Dorothy was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She also loved doing word search puzzles, going out for coffee with her best friend and spending time at the family cottage on the Ford River.

Dorothy is survived by:
3 Daughters: Bonnie (William) Sheedlo of Racine, WI
Judy (Alan) Howard of Escanaba, MI
Barbara (David) McIntyre of Escanaba, MI
5 Grandchildren: Michelle (Chris) Keenan, Todd Sheedlo, James (Heather) Miller, Jr., Timothy McIntyre and Ryan (Becky) Sheedlo.
And 8 Great-Grandchildren: Megan Sheedlo, Zadessa Miller, Haley Sheedlo, Jacob Sheedlo, Emily Sheedlo, Madison Sheedlo, Delaney McIntyre and Brady McIntyre.

In addition to her Parents and loving Husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by two Brothers and a Sister.

Private services will be held. Burial will take place in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Brown family.

    So sorry for your loss. She was kne of my sweethearts. I just loved her. She always made me smile. She will be missed.

    She was a great lady who I remember helping many times with here rentals and in the fish shop she treasured. Lunch was always my favorite time, she had great treats and always offered me seconds and what kid could say no to that. Her warm smiles will be missed.
