3 Tributes for “Donald P. Jacobs

I have very fond memories of Don teaching the neighborhood kids how to log roll in the beach behind Sayklly’s and LeCaptain’s house on Lake Shore Drive in Esky. It was always exciting when Don came over and got on a log! He inspired my involvement in Timber Sports as well, although I never really could get the hang of log rolling. Watching Don perform in front of the crowds at the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward, WI. provided memories for many which we will never forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with Don’s family.

    Dear Dyan, Connie and Patti,
We were so very sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing. You have our deepest condolences. We’re sorry we can’t be there for the service, but please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have so many wonderful (and colorful) menories of “The French Renegade,” especially his stays with our family during his annual trek to Milwaukee for the Sport Show. I can still see him running on stage, kicking his heels together, and then “ferociously” battling his opponent on the other end of the log. (And I was always so proud to know a celebrity in show business!)

Your Dad was one of the kindest, classiest and most gracious men I’ve ever known, and he will be deeply missed.
