Constance Mary “Connie” Beveridge, 83, of Escanaba, passed away Monday January 8, 2017 following a brief illness at the O.S.F. St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Constance was born December 30, 1934 in Escanaba the daughter of Alfred and Agnes (White) Hart. She was raised in Gladstone where she attended Gladstone Public Schools. Connie was united in marriage to William “Bill” Beveridge on December 1st, 1951 at the All Saints Church in Gladstone. They made their home in Gladstone where they started their family, eventually moving to Escanaba in 1956.

Connie worked for the Leader Store and Whiffle Tree in Escanaba as a sales clerk for 21 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the St. Joseph/St. Patrick Catholic Church and Past President and member of the Escanaba Fan Club. She was proud of earning her G.E.D. from Escanaba High School in 1980. Following their retirement, Bill and Connie wintered in Messa, AZ where they could follow the Chicago Cubs during Spring Training for 21 years.
Connie loved attending all of her familie’s activities, especially sporting events. She was their #1 fan. For the past 12 years, she especially enjoyed “Girls camp night out”.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, Bill, survivors include:
Children: Shirley Webber of Escanaba, Patricia (Robert) LaFave of Escanaba, Vicky (David) Axford of Escanaba, Mark (Carol) Beveridge of New Berlin, WI, Michael (Karin) Beveridge of Escanaba and Wendy (Mike) Swille of Escanaba.
Brother: David (Betty) Hart of Madison, WI
Sisters: Luella “Putsy” Besch of Iron Mountain and Diane Robinson of Kingsford
20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents, her 2 brothers, Robert and Don Hart, and sister, Delores Mariucci preceded Connie in death.

Connie’s family will receive friends on Thursday January 11, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at the St. Joseph/St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Eric Olson officiating. Luncheon will follow at the St. Anne Catholic Church Parish Hall. Burial will be at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashma and Allergy Foundation of America. Envelopes will be available at the Skradski Family Funeral Homes.

    Bill and Family: I spent many hours with Connie while working at the Leader Store from 1987 – 1990. As co-workers, during slow times in the store and especially on Saturday afternoons, we had great conversations about family and life in Escanaba. Those memories of hangin’ out, I remember fondly. I’m sorry for your loss. I’m living in Iowa now and won’t make it to the funeral but my deepest sympathies to you and your entire family.

    So very sorry for your loss Mark and Carol. My mom always spoke highly of your Mom and Dad. I know you will miss her greatly. sending many prayers and blessings to you and your family.

    Uncle Bill & Family….I am so sorry to here about Aunt Connie, our deepest Condolences go out to you all at this time…One thing I will always remember about her is her huge smile and her laugh….I dont think i have ever saw an angry look on her face…she was always a sweetheart and jovial to everyone around her….God Bless You All and again I am so so sorry for her loss!!!!     To my dear cousins and Uncle Bill,

    I am so sorry for the great loss of “Aunt Connie.” She was a beautiful person inside and out! I will always remember her beautiful smile and laugh! She will be so missed! My deepest sympathy and love to all of you!

    My heart felt condolences to the Bill, all the kids (who are our first cousins) …..With so many fond memories growing up around the Hart and Beveridge families. We are all thinking of you today with a heavy heart. We remember Auntie Connie with the utmost love and respect. Please know that we’ll be with you in this time of your loss, but at some point, we should all smile when we reflect on how Auntie Connie made our lives better. She will be missed. From our family to yours…….We love you guys…..

    We are so sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Aunt Connie will be deeply missed. She was a great lady and brightened many peoples lives.

    Sarah and family, we are so sorry to hear about your Grandmas passing. I know how much she meant to you. Please take comfort in knowing that she is resting in the arms of angels. Our deepest sympathy to all of you.

    I remember Aunt Connie as a person with a kind, gentle & patient soul. My heart is breaking for all those she has left behind….but I know that she will be happy to being reunited with her parents & siblings in heaven. It’s never easy to lose a parent, no matter how old we are. My thoughts & prayers are with you during this difficult time. She is no longer here on earth, but memories of her will last forever!

    Aunt Connie was always a kind, gentle soul. Her love of family was always known. Her home she made for my Uncle Bill was always open to both friends and, especially family. My heart breaks for my namesake, uncle Bill. Uncle, I know God has opened the doors of Heaven and welcomed her home to her, and the earth is less for her passing, Sir.
