Cody Allen Cayer, age 20, of Perkins passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

Cody was born March 5, 1998 in Escanaba, the son of Ronald and Amy (Richards) Cayer. He graduated from Mid-Peninsula High School in 2016. Cody was active with the United Evangelical Covenant Church in Gladstone and interned at the U.P. Bible Camp in Little Lake for a few years. He was a hard worker, doing missionary work in Haiti and working at the Terrace Bay Inn and Nor-Fab Manufacturing in Gladstone. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Cody is survived by his father, Ronald of Perkins; his sister, Kaitlin (Lucas) Davenport of Escanaba; his brother, Ronald James Cayer of Gladstone; his nephew, Liam Davenport; paternal grandfather, Gordon (Sharl) Cayer of Rock, maternal grandmother, Caroline Marie Moulds of Gladstone, maternal grandfather, Michael Roy Richards of Perkins and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy Cayer and his paternal grandmother, Donna Cayer.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Rock Bible Chapel. Memorial services will follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Adam Hamill. A luncheon will be served following the services in the fellowship hall.

The Cayer family is being assisted by the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

    I’m so sorry for all the family’s loss. He truly was an amazing person. I’ve known him since I was younger. He will be truly missed. If anyone needs anything don’t hesitate to ask. Again I’m so sorry for the family’s loss. Also skradskis is the best place too. They helped our family obviously in a time of need. But Cody will be missed by many. He always put everything and everyone before himself. ♥️♥️

    Cody was my grand nephew.Never really knew him,but i knew he was a part of my family.And was loved.My deepest sympathy goes out to his dad ronnie and brother and sister.He is in heaven with good company.All my love goes out to his family.Great aunt sheila and family.
