Clemens J. Weisse, age 92, of Detroit, MI died Sunday morning September 5, 2004 at the Lakeview Assisted Living in Gladstone where he had been residing.
Clemens was born April 14, 1912 in Witten, Germany the son of Wilhelm and Maria (Derstadt) Weisse. He was raised in Germany and immigrated to the Detroit area in 1935. He was united in marriage to the former Paula DeWulf in September of 1939 in Detroit and they made their residence in the Detroit area. Clemens retired from the Twin Pines Dairy Company in
Detroit where he worked as a microbiologist. He was an avid gardener and a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Shores.

In addition to his wife Paula, survivors include: 1 son: Frederick (Mary) Weisse of Rapid River, MI 2 daughters: Maryann (James) Armour of Granger, IN Virginia (Walter) Gerstner of Livonia, MI

The Weisse family will receive friends on Tuesday September 7, 2004 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48224 (313-884-5500) and on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Shores. Mass of Christian Burial services celebrating the life of Clemens J. Weisse will follow at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Heifer Project International, 1015 Louisiana Street, Little Rock, AR 72202 or www.heifer.org.

    Family and Friends of Clem,I had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Clem while I assisted him at the Miron home on Lakeshore Dr. He was truly a wonderful man! We shared many laughs and stories. It was always a pleasure to see him and he was always so thankful for our time.
