Clarine Ruth Nelson, age 56, of Garden passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, August 4, 2019.

Clarine was born on March 26, 1963 in Manistique, the daughter of Thomas and Pamela (Larson) Lang. She grew up on the Garden Peninsula where she attended school and graduated from Big Bay de Noc. After graduating, she would marry her best friend, Ronald Nelson on October 3, 1981 in Garden. They settled down and raised their family on her in-laws family farm in Isabella. Clarine spent the last two decades in the medical field working as a Registered Nurse for St. Francis Hospital and LMAS in Manistique. In her younger years she took pride working as a waitress and server at the Eat Shop, Mac’s Bar and Tylene’s. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and always looked forward to her monthly trips to Marquette and Green Bay.

Clarine is survived by her husband, Ron of Garden; her parents, Tom and Pam of Garden; sons, Calvin (Heather) of Green Bay, WI Christopher (Anna) of Marquette and RC (Becka) of Green Bay, WI; daughter, Cassie (Krystie) Nelson of Garden; grandchildren, Wally, Tommy, Lucy, Clare, Cohen and Ronnie; brother, Henry (Deb) Lang of Manistique and sister, Tomilyn (Matt) Garot of Green Bay, WI.

She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Wally and Laverda Nelson and a close cousin, Chris Lang.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Upper Peninsula Nurses Honor Guard services will be at 5:45 PM. Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM with Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Clarine will be laid to rest in the New Garden Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Clarine’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family would like to thank North Woods Home Care Hospice for the care and compassionwhile taking care of Clarine.

    So sad. She was our nurse at Bishop Now for a while and I just loved her. She was always so kind and patient. I’m thankful I got too see her last year In walmart with her husband as I embraced her with a hug. God bless her husband, children, and grandkids to. She was a sweet person with a huge heart. Clarine will be missed but never forgotten. Prayers.

    So sorry to hear this. I worked with Clarine for many years at LMAS. She was a wonderful, compassionate person. God bless all who loved her. Prayers for peace and comfort.

    Clarine always took good care of me and the family at the LMAS health department. She was very compassionate and I always looked forward to seeing her. Condolences to all of the family and friends. I know she will be missed by many. ♡

    Clairine was a kind, loving person and a hard worker. She studied many long hours into the night to earn her degree. She will be missed by so many friends.

    Thoughts and prayers for the entire family. So sorry for everyone’s loss. When I think of Clarine,I will always remember her beautiful big smile, the Love she had for Ron, her children,,her parents and her siblings. She knew what true happiness really was and she lived it.     She was such and amazing woman with such an amazing family. She was basically my second mother going through college. She will surely be missed. My condolences to her family.

    My heart goes out to all of you. Clarinet is a true example of what a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and all around good person is. Everyone loved her and she will be forever missed and her life will shine through in all of you.

    Very sorry to hear about Clarine. Really enjoyed working with her when she was at LMAS. She was a kind and gentle person who will be missed.

    Clariene was a fun and loving friend and raised some great kids with Ron. She will be missed but remembered always. I thank God for her life and the contribution she made in this world.

    I remember her from by past work and the health Dept and what a nice lady just a super nice and caring woman.

    My Dear Sweet Niece Clarine, you were the first one born to have made me an Aunt for the first time , I was barely 2 yrs., old myself. Maybe it was you all this time that made me love babies so much and want to be a Mommy. I remember the first time that you bought Ronnie to Manistique to meet Grama June and Grampa Dick you were so excited to have us all meet him, from the time you met Ronnie back then through the rest of your married life I don’t think that you could slip a piece of paper between the two of you, that’s how close of a loving couple you were, than came the babies , Calvin was the first Great Grandchild and Great Nephew in our family . Clarine you are(we’re) An Amazing Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister , Daughter , Niece and Friend. My Sweet Angel you are Missed and Loved by so many ❤️

    So sorry for your family’s loss, Clarine and I were classmates in Nursing School. I always had fun with her during our time at Bay. Hard worker and always had a smile on her face.

    Very shocked and so sorry to hear of the loss of Clarine. She always seemed so kind hearted and friendly, knowing her from growing up together on the Garden Peninsula. A gentle soul. My heart goes out to her family. I am so sincerely so sorry for your loss.

    Sending my sincere sympathy and prayers for comfort. I always enjoyed spending time with Clarine, she was a wonderful nurse and a very kind lady. Her smile and willingness to help others was always so heart warming. May she always Rest In Peace. Prayers for all her family.

    I will always remember Clarine as so accepting with a warm smile and lots of laughter. She will greatly be missed. To the family – please know she will always be around. It will be the little things that make you think of her and know she is there. She raised a wonderful, respectable and loving family/children and loved to spend time with her grandchildren!
