We didn’t know he passed. Earl knew him since he was around 12 years old. Very sad. We seen him not too long ago at a local store and we were talking as we always did when we’d see him. Very sorry for the families loss as he was and is a good guy. God bless you all.

I’m at a loss for words and I’m so sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. He’s been a huge part of my life and has always been a brother and son to me and my family while growing up. He was such a wonderful passive soul and I know he will be greatly missed. Sending love and prayers and may you’re memories of Charlie bring you peace. RIP brother.

My brother Charlie was a warrior. He battle a lifetime of illness and injury. He was the toughest person i ever knew. When you spend a lifetime watching and helping someone that is dealing with handicaps, you go through a huge array of experiences that you could only have with a person that has to work harder than anybody you know just to get through the day. Simple everyday things like putting your pants on or getting the mail. He never wanted help. He didn’t want to be a bother. Frankly it was harder for me to watch him do it himself than it was to do it for him sometimes. But you had to let him try. Everyone that had a part in Charlies life is a better person today, than they would have been if they didn’t know him. When you took him places you had to allow more time to do things. You learned to just relax and walk slow, why are we always in a hurry anyway? He would stop and talk to strangers. And now i do too. You should try it sometime, people can be very interesting. If you have never had the opportunity to go shopping with a handicap person i recommend it! He had a good sense of humor and a good sense of right and wrong. He hated injustice and he strongly valued honesty. Just tell me the truth he would say, no matter how bad it is i can take it.
Sure he complained once and a while about his situation, who wouldn’t? but it was usually with a sense of humor. He would always tell me don’t worry i got this, even though sometimes it was obvious he didn’t. We laughed together, and we cried together, and we fought like brothers do. But just like brothers do, we always had each others back. He was a passionate sports fan and he enjoyed a good spirited debate. He would argue with dad for hours. He loved his kids, and he loved the grand kids they blessed him with. He was always so proud to tell me about them and what was going on. Charlie you left us with some really good people. You leave me with some great memories, and some sad ones. You were my very first playmate and my very first friend. We were so much different, and so much alike. My life has just changed forever now. But don’t worry i got this!
