Beverly J. Gartland, age 92, of Gladstone, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 6, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 18, 1926 to Lawrence and Pandora (Burton) Bunno and was raised in Brampton. Bev married William Gartland an together the couple raised their family in the Gladstone area. She was a devoted wife and mother with a great sense of humor.

Bev loved shopping with her daughters and listening to her husband and sons telling their hunting and fishing stories. She also loved watching game shows, visiting her second family at 4J’s restaurant and reading cookbooks. Although she often tried new recipes, she was an old-fashioned cook who had no recipe for many of her family’s favorite foods. Everything was always “some of this and a little bit of that”. Somehow her meals always tasted fantastic.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Russell, Steve (Kim) Gartland, Linda Russell, Bill (Kathy) Gartland Jr., Tim (Tracie) Gartland, Doug (Dianne) Gartland and Randy (Patti) Gartland.
She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her brother in law, Ken (Pat) Gartland, sisters in law, Darlene (Ralph) McGeary, Bev (Edward) Bunno, Eileen Erickson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Pandora, her husband William, siblings Jack, Jacquelyn, Floyd, Edward and Dorothy. She was also preceded in death by two infant children.

Graveside services for Beverly J. Gartland will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 1:00PM, at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone, with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting with arrangements.

    Love filled your eyes in every moment, and with that you’ve filled mine. I’m never going to forget the times I got to spend with you when I came home to visit- the way you’d listen to my stories and hold my hand. I’m going to miss that. I’ll think of you when I hear the birds.

    Grandma you were the most amazing and beautiful person I’ve ever met. You would always make us smile. You had so much love in your eyes. You were always so soft spoken and kind hearted. Heaven received such a beautiful angel. We miss you so much. As painful as it is to no longer have you here with us it’s also joyous to know your home with grandpa in he can right now. Until we see you again we love you.

    Never seen Aunt Bev without a smile, and always happy to see ya! Heaven has another angel.She will live inside the heart’s of all that loved her,til we meet again .

    Beverly was one of my favorite customers down at the 4 J’s. When I started waitressing there she’d always be telling me that I was doing such a great job. She’d said “If I owned a restaurant I’d hire you first”!! A very upbeat ,encouraging, and loving person. Heaven gained a beautiful soul. My condolences to the family.

    Thank you Bev for letting us get to know you! You were always so kind to us. Our lives are so much richer for having known you! Thank you for being apart of our family too! You will be dearly missed!

    Aunt Bev and uncle Bill will be truly missed by me and all my family. I have such fond memories of visiting their home and enjoying the geese “watch dogs”. I will never forget her smile and our wonderful breakfast get together. All our love goes out to the entire family.
