Allen “Alley Cat” James LaBonte, age 55, of Escanaba passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Allen was born May 26, 1961 in Escanaba, the son of Lemrod and Ethel (McGuire) LaBonte Sr. He worked as a journeyman lineman for MJ Electric and Campbell Electric for many years. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. (I.B.E.W.) Allen loved spending time with his family. His daughters were his pride and joy and loved to talk about them. He enjoyed hunting, spending time at camp and watching sports. He was avid Green Bay Packer and NASCAR racing fan.

Allen is survived by two daughters, Danielle LaBonte of Escanaba and Tonya (Jayme Boudreau) LaBonte of Gladstone; grandchildren, Rielly, Jayden and Raelyn; two brothers, Lemrod (Wendy) LaBonte Jr. and Lawrence LaBonte, both of Escanaba; two sisters, Jane (Fran) Kleikamp of Spalding and Debbie LaBonte of Eau Claire, WI; numerous nieces and nephews and good friends, Dan Lehman, Jason Henderson and Roger Dault of Escanaba.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his sister, Cynthia LaBonte and his brothers, Larry, Harold and Lenard.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Escanaba Eagles Aerie 1088. Allen will be laid to rest in the Spalding Township Cemetery.

    We are so very sorry for your loss; you have been through so many losses it is so hard to believe. But losing children cannot possibly be understood. There are no words to express our sympathy but you are so in our thoughts and prayers.
